Latest news from Car Number 29 I have not heavily modified the car but I work to the rule, never replace always upgrade. :-)
The turbos were replaced due to corrosion with Turbo Technics rebuilt ones with 360 degree bearings. I also replaced all the exhaust studs in the head and the turbos with ARP studs to try and stop them shearing off!
The CATs are high flow metal CATs to a standard rear box so it meets noise regs on track days.
The front brakes have been replaced with larger off the shelf 343mm x 32mm drilled AP discs. Custom bells were made to accept the discs and spaces machined into the existing caliper brakets to space them correctly.
The major change is the gearbox. I bought one from Mike Sekinger with the Quaiffe ATB installed. I had the Derek Bell upgrade fitted by Jack Knight Development but they screwed it up big time before going bust. Derek was very helpful but the work was too bad to be corrected making it almost impossible to find 1st or 2nd most of the time. I had this replaced with the upgrade offered by GTO Engineering that is manufactured by Quaiffe and it is much better now. This gives me the confidence I can to the track days without too much fear of the gearbox going pop. :-)
I have attached a couple of pictures for fun.
